I’m passionate about education opportunities for our kids – all of our LSR7 kids!
I've been serving our students and community as a Board Member since 2020 and as President of the Board this past year. I'm proud of the trajectory the district is on and excited about continuing to work hard for our kids and community - bringing board experience and balanced, responsible leadership to the next term ensuring the focus is always on the educational opportunities for every one o four LSR7 students.
I'm running again to continue to lead, listen and learn - continue to work hard for our students and do my homework - celebrating District success and working to resolve challenges asking the tough questions to close barriers and engage stakeholders in conversation to make sure our strategic direction and decisions as a Board are seen in the success of every one of our students!
I’ve been a part of the Lee’s Summit community for over 20 years with both of my sons attending and graduating from our LS schools. I’ve loved working with our students, other parents, our teachers and administrators and our community in many different volunteer roles over the years always with the goal of what best serves our kids and their education.
I have seen first-hand the incredible support for the district from people throughout our community - support for our students, our families and our staff - we are a community that lifts students up - working and volunteering to "Prepare each student for success in life!" Since being elected to the board and serving as President, I have been proud to champion:
- Future forward innovations in our schools for our students - building and learning opportunities:
- Promises made - promises kept - delivering on the 2020 Bond Projects
- New, Renovations and additions promised and supported by taxpayers - renovations to Mason Elementary, Lee's Summit High School, East Trails Middle School and renovations at 3 existing middle schools, Great Beginnings - Paradise Park, Security hardening in all buildings and upgrades to our High School Athletics

- Expansive, innovative learning opportunities growing pathways for students through RIASEC, Real World Learning, Project and Competency based learning throughout elementary, middle school and high school engaging students around their skills, and preferences as they grow and learn where they'd like their future careers to be past graduation - growing rigor and hands on opportunities for EVERY student - college-bound, technical school or career ready
- Promises made - promises kept - delivering on the 2020 Bond Projects
- Building relationships in partnership and collaboration with Superintendent, Dr. David Buck and Stakeholders throughout the district and our community
- Building relationships with fellow Board Members focused on collaboration and shared learning in Governance, Board Priorities and Board Promises

- Transparency in District and Board communication as well as building two-way communication and community engagement opportunities
I have a BBA with an emphasis on Computer Based Information Systems and MBA both from UMKC. I continue to challenge myself every day learning new tools and concepts to lead teams and effect change. I have also received the Master Certification from the Missouri State School Board Association and am currently working to achieve the Distinguished Certification.
We are in a time of great change and growth in our district. We know a strong, vibrant school district is the backbone of a strong, growing community. We also know that change is hard to go through but with the shared goal of improving the educational opportunities available to our LSR7 kids – I know we can discuss, support and work through any barriers to achieve that. I am proud to represent you and our over 18,000 students on the LSR7 School Board!
